I took this picture of a very beautiful sky from the top of a battery-lift scaffold that I used while restoring an office front in downtown Norman, OK (see "Portfolio/Exterior Painting"). This sky was the calm after a storm.

The beauty of this sky moved me so much that I decided then and there that I wanted to paint blue sky and clouds on ceilings. Think of the Irving Berlin song:

"Blue skies smiling at me"

"Nothing but blue skies do I see"

The Venetian Plaster look, with polishing the plaster, to the right.

A finished room with Venetian plaster, and the happy home owner. That's "Bev."

Color wash on walls and ceiling.

Rose adobe walls, troweled, with rose paint and top glaze wash.

I took an uninteresting slab door and finished it to look like a castle door.

On the left, refinish work with stain and spar urethane on exterior doors.

On the right, a door that I gave an "Olde World" charisma.
